TNA Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky and Mickie James vs. Gail Kim and Tara
Mickie and Gail start the match for their respective teams. Mickie takes Gail down with back to back forearms then dropkicks Tara when she attempts to intervene. Gail reverses an Irish whip and Jessie sweeps the legs while Tara distracts ODB. Kim applies a wristlock and looks for a tag but Tara is busy with Jessie.

Tara gets her head back in the game and climbs the apron so she can tag in. Tara continues the assault, tying Mickie up in a Tree of Woe. Tara gets a running head start and dropkicks Mickie right in the face. Tara rubs noses with Jessie so Gail tags herself in since she’s actually paying attention.

Gail splashes Mickie in the corner as Jessie fans Tara with his vest. Back in the ring Mickie regains the advantage with a savate kick as Gail goes for a splash. Tara gets the tag but so does Velvet and the Knockouts Champion takes it right to her rival with a running neckbreaker for a two count.

Velvet sets up for In Yo Face but Gail runs in to stop it. Velvet throws Gail into Jessie and both fall to the outside. Tara gets distracted by this and Velvet hits In Yo Face the second time around for the three count.

Mickie spoke to Roadkill Bill of Wizard 106.7 FM this morning where she discussed her wrestling career, her new album “Somebody’s Gonna Pay” and Impact Wrestling in Tupelo, Mississippi. Read highlights below:

On balancing a wrestling career and music career; “With TNA, a lot of people don’t know this, but Dixie Carter was involved with country music for years. She’s been super supportive and helpful. She helps me balance the two in a sense. I just have no personal life [laughs], that’s just what it comes down to. They’re both different sides of my life.”

On injuries she’s had in wrestling; “I’ve strained my neck. I’ve had whiplash where I landed on my head the wrong way, not that there’s a right way to land on your head. I don’t know that there is. Sprained ankles. Separated both of my shoulders, twice! Luckily nothing that has ever been too crazy. The one time that I did land on my head, it was pretty scary. I got knocked out. I couldn’t turn my head for like two or three weeks. I thought I broke it but fortunately I did not. You know every night when you go out there that there is potential that you can end your career but you go out there anyway because you love it so much.”

Mickie James released her debut album, “Somebody’s Gonna Pay,” this week, and she says getting the disc out is bringing about a full slate of emotions. “The full album is out, it’s on iTunes, and we’ve got a video out on it. I’m excited but also so nervous at the same time. I’ve definitely been praying about it,” she told Billboard. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that James has a built-in fan base already, thanks to her exposure as a multi-time champion in the world of TNA Impact Professional Wrestling.

When asked about how the worlds of music and wrestling are the same, she said “I think they run very parallel, especially with the fan base being so loyal. I think the schedule of the performances is also similar. I’ve been a performer all my life. That’s what I love to do – to make people feel something. I’ve been fortunate enough to do it on a grand scale in the wrestling world, pulling on people’s emotions, and make them feel something. But, doing it on stage is something altogether different because you are so vulnerable.
